We heard from so many people about families moving to Weatherford in the last 10 years. Some choose to live out on the lake, some choose the ranch life and others live in town. They like that Weatherford is a place to get away from the bigger cities like Ft Worth, Arlington, and Dallas and to enjoy some peace & quiet and have a nice sized plot for livestock, gardening or just playing around. The majority have really enjoyed moving here and have grown with the city as it’s gotten bigger. The downside of it getting bigger is more people, the upside is that you have more choices for dining, recreation etc and honestly, Weatherford is the biggest little town you’ll ever see. You still actually see a sheriff or older gentlemen or but with their hats and boots on and still a few ladies too for that matter.
Weatherford is a nice welcoming town, and it’s growing like crazy. We seem to see new restaurants and shopping going frequently, in fact, Walsh Ranch is a wonderful new high-end shopping and living edition just 10min from downtown. The school district is very good and they have a very good FFA program for Farm and Agriculture (Future Farmers of America). If you live on the East side of Weatherford, your commute time into Fort Worth might be 30-40 minutes and not much longer on the west side, I-20 is a major thoroughfare.
